Upcoming Field
Trips:
Currently discussing:
Summer solstice night shoot, sometime
near the end of July. Final dates will be posted here when
available.
Completed
Field Trips:
Covered Bridges of Ashtabula
County
Many thanks
to Paul and Dan for guiding us all (even around
road construction detours) to some great Covered Bridge
locations. We all ate lunch afterward and shared a few laughs
and
stories at a small town diner with wonderful food. (Thanks
Dan)
Cleveland Zoo
The weather
was hot, but just enough of a cool breeze
was available to make the day enjoyable. Many thanks
to Jeaneen Sheehan for providing the photos below.
Parade the
Circle
- Members
from several clubs attended this event. The
weather was near perfect and their were many
colorful artwork objects to focus on.
Canaan Valley
- Club members
traveled to
Canaan Valley and
Blackwater Falls
State Parks. Members stayed in
what turned out to be beautiful lodging next to
streams, and had the opportunity to photograph
many varied subjects throughout the region. An
early morning fog made for some ethereal images.
Lakeview Cemetery
- Members
from Southwest and Lakewood clubs attended this
field trip. Turnout on this nearly perfect day was near 25.
The architecture and grounds are a photographers dream,
with
potential images everywhere. Afterwards, members either had a
picnic style lunch or ate at Trattoria in the adjacent Little
Italy area.
Rockefeller Greenhouse
- Members from several local clubs attended this field
trip. In
between photographing the varied flora a few photographers
took some time to photograph the many varied species of cactus
(picture below) on display at the greenhouse.
- Macro was the
word of the day, with photographers using a variety
of close-up lenses, extension tubes, diopters and other
assorted
close-up aids to fill the frame with their subject.
